Very recently NASA launched a spacecraft to Mars. The craft is carrying a land rover named PERSEVERANCE as well as a Helicopter aka drone named Ingenuity. Why would NASA call a rover Perseverance? Here’s why.

1. The trip to Mars will take about seven months and about 300 million miles (480 million kilometers).
2. The spacecraft reaches temperatures of about 2,300 to 2,400 degrees Fahrenheit, or 1,200 to 1,300 degrees Celsius as it enters Mars atmosphere.
