Who we are
Dear Families of New Springs Schools,
New Springs Schools PVO is about men and women working together toward a common goal. That goal is creating a better school and a better educational experience for our children. We are moms and dads, uncles and aunts, grandparents and friends who have a genuine interest in the education of our children.
The Role of PVO
Our mission is to promote an environment where teachers and administrators can do their best work and our students can do their best learning. The key to a successful PVO is the involvement of the entire school community. Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have better grades and fewer discipline problems in school. It truly takes a village to raise a child, and we are a hands-on organization with a belief that our children are our greatest investment in life.
How can you help
There are so many ways to become involved in NSSPVO and we need your help. You can attend the monthly meetings, serve on a committee, and/or volunteer at a PVO-sponsored event. Whatever fits best with your schedule. As a completely volunteer organization, we can never have too many helpers or too many new ideas. Our work goes beyond raising money, whatever time you have to volunteer, we have an activity for you. Please consider attending a PVO Meeting. The meetings are a great way to hear about upcoming events. Volunteer Sign-Up Sheets are emailed periodically during the school year.
When are the PVO Meetings?
Meetings are held 2nd Wednesday of every month. Any date and/or time changes to this meeting schedule will be communicated in advance. Our meetings are very informal and are open to all parents and teachers of NSS students. You do not need to be a board member or serve on a committee to participate in the PVO.
